A Japanese Edo period green Oribe “ao-oribe” lidded box. Of oblong form decorated with asymmetrical scrolling vines, supported by four cylindrical feet. In original Japanese cedar case inscribed and dated, the seventh year of Kaei, (1854). 18cm long.
