Anglo-Indian “Visakhapatnam” glove box

Indian “Visakhapatnam” glove box. Veneered in Indian ivory, Coromandel Coast ebony and inlaid with bands and rondels of sedeli work on a carcass of sandalwood with a carved ivory earls coronet set into the center of the lid. The base lined in “Mauveine” dyed purple fabric. Circa 1880
Reputedly from Frederick Hamilton-Temple-Blackwood, 1st Marquess of Dufferin and Ava, former Viceroy of India.
