Japanese Portable Lacquer Shrine “Zusi”.
The image sits cross legged in sukhasana and holds a peach in her left hand, her right probably once grasped a Rui sceptre (now missing).
The removable figure is housed in a shrine beneath a blue and gilt canopy and raised on a throne. The shrine is gilt inside with black lacquer exterior, chased lacquered brass fittings and hinges.
